Thank you to everyone who came out and shared their stories! We had a great turn out and really enjoyed all the personal tales that were shared. We live streamed the event to Facebook, so if you're interested in watching the recordings we've added them here. You can also check them out on our Facebook page! The first video starts out a bit sidewise :) but rights itself after a couple minutes! Unfortunately, the recording was interrupted during one of our amazing stories, so the second video starts mid-story. | California the Journey Story Jam – Until You Walk a Mile Everybody has a story. Come tell yours. Do you have a story like this? Or would you like to hear stories from our fellow community members? The Fresno County Public Library has invited community members to tell their story about their personal journey to California. We are looking for story tellers to share a 5 - 10 minute story about coming to California. The finale event of our California the Journey series, this Story Jam is on Saturday, October 21 at 2pm at the Bitwise theatre, 700 Van Ness Ave. Every audience member will receive a commemorative notebook for attending. And filling out a survey will get you an entry to win a Kindle Paperwhite or a personal library of select books and DVDs! Story telling will be from 2pm to 4pm followed by a one-hour reception. The library will also provide "Listening Stations" during the reception for attendees to record their stories. No one is merely a label. |
